Tmer Lütfi Erdem

Prof. Dr. Tamer Lütfi Erdem was born in 1961 in Istanbul. After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1984, he completed his PhD and specialty training in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the Institute of Health Sciences of the same university in 1990. He began his academic career in 1991 as a lecturer at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, was appointed Assistant Professor in 1992, Associate Professor in 1994, and became a Full Professor in 2000.
He served as a faculty member at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry between 1991 and 2020, holding various academic and administrative positions.
From 2014 to 2019, he was a faculty member at Okan University Faculty of Dentistry, and from 2019 to 2020, he served at Beykent University Faculty of Dentistry, assuming the role of chief physician at both institutions. Between 2020 and 2023, he worked as a faculty member at Atlas University Faculty of Dentistry.
As of 2024, Prof. Dr. Tamer Lütfi Erdem has joined the academic staff of Istinye University Faculty of Dentistry, where he currently serves as the Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and provides clinical services at Istinye Dental Hospital (Istinye University Oral and Dental Health Application and Research Center).
His academic interests include oral diagnosis, dental radiology, temporomandibular disorders, and digital imaging systems.
